The light is slowly returning and we have entered a time of change and transformation. May it be full of special experiences for us all. We are here for your counseling ,healing and learning needs as the Wheel turns. We look forward to sharing this exciting time with one and all.

Making Medicine-Tinctures, Elixirs, Oils and More....Jan. 29 from 1-4 pm. Learn how to make these wonderful healing medicinals. Registration required by Jan 21.

Reiki 1 & Reiki 2 Class-Jan. 28 from 10 am -3:30 pm. .....Reiki 1 is a pre-requisite for 2 and preregistration is required as class size is limited.

Woman's Ceremonial Circle -Fri., Jan. 13 at 7pm.

Adventures In Dreaming-Our dream group being held at Pawlet Public Library meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6pm. We are having lots of fun with this and any who wish are welcome to join us!

Gathering of Unity--our monthly ceremonial drum group is evolving into a monthly special event for folks to gather, share and be in community. We will gather each month on the 3rd Sunday from 1-4 pm. As we go forward it is important to embrace our differences and similarities and to create positive opportunities for people to help create change within and without. The times are changing and so must we...however we can do this in a positive and uplifting way.

May the world that we dream of become a reality as we dance our dream forward.

Hello Everyone!!

The Sacred Wheel turns as it always does and we are heading to a new season! This time tends to find most busy with the holidays and celebrations. This is the darkest time of the year and sharing it with those we love helps us as we go along our way. Here at Heron Brook Haven we take this time of year to celebrate the abundance we have been given and shared. We celebrate with family and friends in our own way and celebrate the blessings of this life. In honor of that, and of ourselves, we keep our schedule free of extra events. We are always available for healing or counseling sessions. We also have gift certificates, essences, tinctures, oils, teas and prayer & smudge mixes available for your giving and sharing.

The dates for Adventures in Dreaming
at the Pawlet Public Library this month are the 13th and the 27th. We are having lots of fun sharing and playing with our dreams. This is an open group and any are welcome to join us when they can. The Woman's Ceremonial Circle is canceled for this month as it conflicts with the dream group. This will be held in January again on the 13th. We can each do our own ceremony on this date in celebration of each other and the season!

NEW YEARS DAY SWEATLODGE!!!

1-1-2012 at 11 am. This is the last day of the season of darkness and what better way to purify yourself for the return of the light than a Sweatlodge! We will cleanse, pray and celebrate and we look forward to sharing this day with all those who feel called to attend!! Be sure to reserve your space and ask for instructions and details if you aren't familiar with them.

Beat of the Drum....
Dec. 18th from 1-4 pm...
A ceremonial drum circle open to all! The Wisdom of Woman group will be starting back up in January with new days and times. This is a wonderful circle time for sharing and supporting each other...something we don't always take the time to give ourselves. I look forward to getting back together with those who choose to join in!

I am going to be offering a workshop/class in January on making tinctures, essences and such. This will be a great time to learn how to make these amazing plant and stone medicines and will give you time to plan what ones you would like to create during the upcoming growing season.

Stay tuned for details and I will send out a notice about this after the holidays. As we make our way through the darkness remember that...all things are born in darkness and from darkness all things issue forth. May this time on the Great Wheel help you find your truth and your peace.

Greetings To All

It is a beautiful, crisp Fall day here at Heron Brook Haven as we move forward and embrace the growth and Oneness. I hope this finds each of you celebrating your harvest, cleansing what is no longer needed and preparing for the days ahead.

Our Fall Festival-Harvest of the Heart was a spectacular day full of beauty and togetherness! Many thanks to Great Spirit for providing us with a gorgeous day and a limited amount of snow!! Special thanks to those who helped us prepare and set up, to those who shared in the day and may the beauty and energy of the day carry us forward!

Several new happenings are listed below along with our regulars. As always full details can be found on the website calendar or you are welcome to contact us for more info..

Wisdom Of Woman~A weekly Circle to gather with women and share experiences. As times change and we seek the ways to go forward it is important to gather with others to share our journeys...the trials, the joys, our strengths and wisdom. In coming together we can support and learn from each other as we create a time where the feminine is honored and we celebrate the beauty and wisdom in each of our paths. Donations always appreciated. We gather each Wed. at 6:30 pm.

Beat of the Drum~~A monthly Drum group where we connect with the beat of the Drum, the heartbeat of
Mother Earth, to join together in Oneness. This is a time to gather in Community and Circle to experience, learn and grow to make the changes needed within and without as we go forward through these changing times. We have extra drums if you don't have one yet. Donations always appreciated. We gather on the 3rd Sunday each month at 1:00 pm.

Woman's Ceremonial Circle~A time for women to gather and come together in ceremony!! We celebrate our power and our unity. Ceremonies for release, healing, celebration, gratitude and whatever else may be called for as we go forward in these changing times! In times past women came together in many ways and they are doing so again. The real feminine wisdom is needed to help support our Mother Earth and all beings. Come join us and be part of the change you want to see in the world!! Embrace the woman that you are and help other women celebrate that as well! We gather every month on the 13th at 6:30 pm. Donations always appreciated.

Adventures In Dreaming.....A fun evening where we share our dreams and play games that help us understand what they are trying to tell us. We use our imaginations and creativity to explore the amazing guidance and healing they offer us! Come join the fun and adventure!! We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month in the children's room at the Pawlet Public Library. Free...if you would like to make a donation it is given to the library.

SPECIAL EVENT!! 13 Indigenous Grandmothers Presentation Nov. 13/ 3:30 pm Come join us as we share this beautiful message. There will be time for questions and dialogue after the movie. For those who are attending both this and the Ceremonial Circle there will be a break between the two to relax and eat. Bring a "brown bag" of nourishment for yourself and we will have tea and other beverages available for you.

November Sweatlodge...Nov 19th at 10 am. Join us in Spirit Path Lodge as we celebrate, cleanse and purify.

We are in a time of change upon our Great Mother and each of us goes through transitions as we make our Earth Walk. We are always available to aid and guide you with personalized healing or counseling sessions. Harvest of the Heart

Greetings of Autumn to All !

The seasons have shifted and with this we are upon the time of the harvest. I trust everyone's work has brought them a bountiful harvest in all ways.

Attached is a flyer and information for our 3rd Fall Festival!! Many exciting happenings this year with this. Be sure to mark your calendar, spread the word and bring your friends...the more the merrier as they say. It is a day of "good trades" and community that you will definitely want to be a part of!!

The Woman's Ceremonial Circle will be on Thursday the 13th at 7pm. Look forward to seeing those who can make it.

We are beginning a Dream Group at the Pawlet Public Library. For those interested it begins on Tuesday March 11th at 6 pm in the lower room.

Each of us holds within many parts and pieces which make up our whole being. As we go forward, grow, reflect, heal and transition working with all these energies is increasingly important. Through several varied modalities you will work with your energies and create a new understanding of your Self. June 25th...8am on...Sweatlodge!!!..Tim has always wanted to do a morning Lodge so in honor of that and the energy of the weekend created here we are going to be doing a morning Sweatlodge after the campout!! For those who choose to stay through....welc ome and thanks for being part of the ceremony and celebration. Time For Letting Go!!!...May 28th...11 a.m. - 3p.m.....Spring is time for cleaning up, pulling weeds and planting seeds. The seeds we plant do better when they have fertile clean soil to grow in. This is an experiential workshop designed to help you let go of and clean out what has been bothering you or keeping you from moving forward. You will be given the space and time to uncover and define what has been holding you back so you can then discern what is underneath and awaken to your future. The workshop is completed with a Fire Releasing Ceremony and you can head into the Summer and growing time of year with an uncluttered heart and mind. Bring a bag lunch and your drink for the day. Greetings To All

Welcome Spring and welcome April...the showers we have been having around here should make for some beautiful May flowers. We have been busy cleaning up and reclaiming some old spaces around here ( in between the raindrops) for gardens and chickens and such. The seedlings have sprouted and are getting ready to go outside and enter Mother Earth...I am not sure who is more excited...them or me!!

As we go forward into the remainder of Spring and continue on our way around the East on the Sacred Wheel it is important to tend your soil and choose your seeds wisely. I have found that what we plant is as important as how we tend it. Choosing our tools, fertilizers and other items we use to care for our gardens is so important!

The Moon Maidens group is off to a great start and I am loving their energy, enthusiasm and wisdom!! The moms gather together upstairs while the maidens and I go downstairs...it seems both groups are having lots of fun!! This group is open to any girl between the ages of 9-15, full details are on the website calendar or you can contact us with any questions.

Sweatlodge Sunday April 17th We will be gathering at 11 AM. Be sure to contact us to reserve your space and receive instruction.

Earth Day Celebration & Healing Ceremony Fri. April 22 @ 7PM.

The Dream Circle and Drum Circle continue on Thursdays...check the calendar for details.

The Women's Group is gathering on Saturdays @3:30 and is a wonderful circle of the Feminine Spirit!! This group is open to any woman who wishes to attend and details are on website calendar.

Our Sweatlodge this month is being offered on Sat., March 19th at 2pm to offer cleansing and purification, along with the Full Moon energy, before the new season of Spring so we can enter it with a pure heart and mind. Contact us to save your space and to receive instructions.

Day of Self-Healing and Renewal Sunday, March 27 10am to 5 pm.

Dancing the Sacred Path This is a 13 week class being offered for those who are interested in learning the Ancient and Sacred ways. Drum and Chant Workshop

Drumming and Chanting Workshop presented by Telling Point:
Ride the wave of energy created by drumming! Expand your connection between yourself, your drum and Mother Earth's energy. We will discuss the spirit of the drum, drumming techniques, rhythms, and raising energy at drum circles. Participants will then learn a few traditional chants, and practice adding drum and percussion rhythms while keeping the chant steady. The workshop will include an opportunity for the group to create a chant around our intentions for the day. Drummers and chanters of all levels are welcome. Please bring a drum!

Greetings Everyone!

The calendar year has turned and I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season and is having a wonderful beginning to 2011. As the Wheel turns we are in a time when things are starting to come together. We should be seeing what the fruit of our labor from the year past has offered us and what we may still have to work on.

Before going into Jan and Feb offerings I would like to let folks know that we have made a few changes to The Heron's Path, the main one being it is now available on an ongoing basis and anyone interested in joining it can do so when they feel called to it. Details on website.

Also, we are getting together an offering I am calling Dancing the Sacred Path. This is going to be offered in two different formats and anyone interested can sign up for the one they feel called to. This is a program of learning and experiencing the ancient and Earth-based ways. Those who join will learn the ways of Medicine and Earth and how to walk a path of healing for Self and others. This will offer journeying, healing techniques, dreamwork and much more. All details are still being worked out and will be available very soon. Path 1 is taking this course on an individual basis and training and teaching can be on a more personal basis. Path 2 is taking this in a group setting and focus will be on a more overall and sharing basis. If anyone is interested in either of these courses, please let me know and I will add you to the list and send you the info when we have it all set up!

December Events, Ready for Solstice?

Greetings To All!

This newsletter comes filled with blessings of the season for each and every one. As we approach the Solstice it is important to take some time to look within and pay attention to things that may still need to be released. Where the trees do not drop their leaves, no bud grows in the Spring. As we approach the returning of the light and the time to rest and renew, it is important to take care of you!

Our groups and circles are being offered this month however we have no extra workshops or classes scheduled as we are busy with several Land & Earth Blessings , Ceremonies and Rituals we have been asked to perform or be a part of. All of which we are very honored and blessed to be included in. Keep an eye on the calendar for new events and programs as we enter the new year.

Our Dream Group is taking on some new and exciting ventures and we are looking for a few Dreamers who would be interested in being part of a committed core group for this circle. If interested, please contact me. We meet the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday each month at 7pm. Also, if anyone is interested in starting their own group and would be interested in having me facilitate it, please contact me.

We are hosting a Solstice Celebration and Ceremony here at HBH and would love to share this amazing evening with any who can attend. Bring a potluck dish, your wishes for the coming year & gratitude for the year past . Come help us welcome the return of the light! Celebration begins at 6 pm., coffee, tea and water provided, bring your own place settings. This is quite a Solstice this year as it is a full Moon, the Solstice and also a full Lunar Eclipse(which will be visible in North America and will occur around 2:30 am...set your alarm clocks and enjoy the beauty!)

We have Gift Certificates available for your holiday giving. Remember to take care of you during this time as well, we do have session times available.

Greetings To All as we enter the month of November.
This is the time of year symbolic of going within and releasing all that we no longer need or what no longer serves us. We have worked hard over the Spring and Summer, have enjoyed, gathered, grown, harvested and spread some new seeds for next year. Now is the time to venture in and welcome death, death in the sense of release and letting go. This is a time of reflection to look at life and what it has offered, what has worked, what no longer feels right or what no longer belongs in our life. Going within and listening to our Self is the best way to accomplish this as only we truly know our own truth. No one else can give you your truth, it is up to each of us to seek that within. Letting go seems to be the piece most have difficulty with. As a whole we tend to hang on to and accumulate too many things. When we can honor what has been in our life, what it has offered us and then let it go in a dignified manner we contribute more wholly to the cycle of life. Finding our truth is our piece however sometimes we need help to be able to let go. That is where community, friends and healers come in. Find your truth and then find the best way for you to let go of and release what no longer serves you on your journey. None of us are meant to go the whole way alone and in seeking out that assistance and companionship we help create community and the sense of togetherness that is so missing in our world.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my gratitude to any and all who were a part of our Festival here on the 31st. What a magical and wonderful day of community, friendship, circles, weather and just good fun. Thank you doesn't seem enough to convey what is felt in the heart however it is the words I have and I offer them to all.

Nature's Way is back on for this month and we look forward to seeing all the kids on Sat. the 20th at 9am. We have some fun activities planned and will continue learning about Mother Earth and all she offers us.

Dream Group..Dreamtime Adventures... is held this month on the 11th and the 25th....both evenings at 7pm. Our dreams speak to us in many ways and as we go forward they will become even more important. We have lots of fun and learn, heal and grow in this group. Come join us and see what you are trying to tell you.

Drum Circle this month is the 4th and the 18th. Come ride the wave and feel the beat. 7pm
Sweatlodge this month is on Sat the 20th. We will place the Stone People and begin the Fire at 2pm. Contact us to reserve your space and receive instruction or with any questions. This is a wonderful and sacred way to allow the release you may be seeking.

GATHERING OF GRATITUDE..2nd Annual..Nov 25th at 12pm. Our potluck feast and gathering to honor Mother Earth and all her blessings. Bring a dish to share and any music, words or gifts you wish to share as we gather in a community way and celebrate the abundance and life. Greetings and Blessings to Everyone!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the beauty of the season! October is a wonderful month full of great energies to help us along our way! It is a time for spreading seeds and planting bulbs that we wish to have blossom in the Spring. It is also a time for many blossoms to bloom. We can enjoy the changing leaves and see them as another Spring with the bursting of color and new life! Here at HBH we are spreading many seeds and bringing to fruition the things we have been working on for a while! It is a very exciting time and the energies are building for some awesome adventures!! Check our calendar on the website for some changes to the group offerings and circles. The exciting news here is we are bringing back the Dream Circle group by popular demand!! This will be held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month and is being called Dreamtime Adventures. We have lots of fun and explore wondrous and healing things. We are hoping to have many of you join us for these absolutely awesome adventures! We have obtained our Non-Profit status!!! Yayyyy!!! The development of programs that goes along with this is an absolutely awesome adventure in itself! The first of which is our HEALING & MUSIC FESTIVAL!! This is being held here at HBH on Oct. 31 from 10 am -9 pm.. This all day event includes vendors, workshops, storytelling, free Reiki, live music performances and much more!!! The day will end with an absolutely awesome concert by Telling Point and an absolutely awesome Community Fire Circle where we invite all to bring their stories, poetry, music or whatever and share it around the Fire in community style!! Greetings To All

Blessings to everyone and hope you all are enjoying the final days of the Summer season. September is a month of shifts and changes and from what I have been hearing from many..that is exactly what is happening with each of us!

As mentioned in my last newsletter and coinciding with the seasons and shifts, there are changes happening here at HBH as well. Changes that we and many others are very excited about. Just as in life we heal, grow and evolve so it is with Heron Brook Haven. We are now Non-profit within Vermont and the 501c3 with the IRS is pending. This is something that opens many doors for us and along with all the changes there will also be lots that remains the same. We let go of what no longer suits us and we hold onto and honor what helps us go forward and is working for us.

One of our goals which is already in the process of becoming a reality is to offer a residential healing program in a spiritual community setting for anyone who has suffered abuse or trauma of any kind. This will be a transitional program and we are ever so grateful for all our friends and healers who are already on board to volunteer, work and help us out with this project and dream. We are going forward and trusting that this will develop, be supported by donations, grants and friends from all over and turn out to be just what it is meant to be..

On Oct. 31st we are hosting a Healing & Music Festival here at Heron Brook Haven as a celebration and charity event to raise funds for this project. There will be workshops, belly dancers, Tarot readings, Storytelling and a concert by the wonderful ladies from Telling Point of Ohio!!! The day will finish with a Fire Celebration Circle of Drumming, dancing, storytelling and anything else anyone wishes to share!! All this will be offered for one low admittance fee! Stay tuned for full details!!If you would be interested in hosting a workshop or being a vendor that day...please contact me so we can work out details.

We are continuing to offer healing and counseling sessions. We will also continue with our retreats & Sweatlodges, Nature's Way program, Wheel Ceremonies and the monthly healing and drum circles. We are bringing back the fun and wonder of our Dream circle!!!...this will be the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month beginning in Oct....full details available on website calendar. Which brings up the fact that as we go through this transition our website will be changing..it will become .org and we will let you know when this happens as there is much to do to get this switch accomplished.

Sister Sweat!! on Sept 25. We are starting the Fire and placing the Stones at about 10am. As the Moon is waning and we enter the time of the waning year it is a wonderful opportunity to share sacred space with your sisters and cleanse and purify. This is filling up so be sure to contact us and reserve your space.

The dog days!

Greetings To All Trust everyone is enjoying the Dog days of Summer! What a beautiful season it has been. August is the last full month of Summer so hope everyone is accomplishing all they wanted to during this growing time of the year! Being the "Dog days of Summer" and having some crazy experiences with our rescue puppy Ruby led me to thinking on Dog Medicine. Dogs are an important part of many of our lives and there is so much they can offer us if we remember to listen. Dogs are all about service and loyalty, they offer us a chance to delve into our sense of service to others. Sometimes we can get caught up in the games of life and forget to follow the path that leads us to our true purpose. Just as there are many types of dogs who have different characteristics, we all have our own talents that allow us to be of service in a way that works for us. Dog, however, asks us to look at how readily our sense of service is manipulated by our need for approval. This can be answered and Dog can help us find our truth by answering honestly the following questions..... **Have I forgotten that I owe my allegiance to my personal truth in life? **Is it possible that gossip or opinions of others have jaded my loyalty to a certain friend or group? **Have I denied or ignored someone who is trying to be my loyal friend? **Have I been loyal and true to my goals? In these changing times it is increasingly important to reclaim truth and remember it is in reclaiming self truth that we can find our way to be of service. Taking all of this into consideration and following the synchronicity of life and my dreams, there are many exciting things and changes coming about at Heron Brook Haven. I am not at liberty to discuss them all yet however can let you know that it is all wonderful and will help many in their healing paths and accomplishing their dreams. I look forward to more sharing of news as things progress and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us in the past and we look forward to going into the future. We are always here for your healing needs and will continue to offer healing sessions, workshops, counseling, etc... We will be hosting our monthly healing events as usual during August however some ( not all) of those will be changing in the months ahead.

Nature's Way, our program for children of all ages has been lots of fun. I think the adults get more out of it than the kids!! This month's is scheduled for Aug 21st, 9-12.

We are hosting a Childrens and Youth Sweatlodge on Aug 15th beginning at 11 am. There will be stories, lessons and lots of fun. Is open to kids age 7 and up. Contact us to reserve your space, receive instructions or with any questions.

Creating Positive Relationships...CPR Heron Brook Haven style....Aug.22/1-4pm...We are all co-creators of what we experience and in our modern lives many times we end up making choices and decisions that create negativity around us. They drain us of our life force and can even create illness. This is an experiential workshop where we will focus on new ways to maneuver through our world to help create positive and fulfilling relationships! These can also be ways to aide you in healing relationships you are in that are struggling.Thes e can be with family, partners, children or in the workplace. We will learn to identify our own behaviors that contribute to the negative, learn about boundaries and positive ways to set and hold onto them and learn the key ingredients that must be present in any relationship for it to be positive and whole.In this way it contributes to the growth and healing of all involved. Walking With Grandmother Moon...Aug. 24/8-10pm....Nature is a most amazing and honest mirror for all of us, it reflects back to us what we hold within us. Many times we just have to be willing to slow down, listen, feel and see what is being presented to us. The messages are all around all the time and are presented to us so we can heal and receive guidance from the wisest of sources. The energies and messages at play during the evening and nighttime hours can be quite different from the ones of the daytime. Energy likes energy(movement ) and when we create this in a sacred and respectful way the experiences can be wonderful! Come join us as we venture out to connect with Nature under the loving light of Grandmother Moon in her fullness!! We will take a walk and seek answers and healing for our individual paths. Guidance will be provided before we head out around connection, meditative walking and setting and holding your intent. Counseling, questions and discussion will take place when we return from our walk. $22...group or family rates available. This is also something that can be offered on an individual basis and can be scheduled to suit your schedule.

Monthly Sweatlodge....Aug 28 at 5pm....this month our Sweatlodge is being offered at night as it is a little cooler and also to enjoy the energies present during this sacred time. Grandmother Moon is in her waning phase and this is in wonderful alignment with release and purification. Contact us to reserve your space, receive instruction or with any questions. The tipi is available for any who wish to stay over. We offer Lodge on a donation basis.

As I prepare to head out this weekend to officiate the ceremony for the union of my best friend to her partner, I am reminded of all the blessings of this life. The connections we are given and the paths that intermingle and cross with ours in many ways. Through the ups and downs we are always supported even if we can tend to forget that. The process of life always gives us just what we need...however we may have to rethink what is a true need and what is a material crutch. Summer is Here!

Happy July To Everyone!!! Summer is now in full swing and I hope this finds you all "tending your gardens" and enjoying the many blessings of this wonderful season! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my third grandchild!! Very exciting.

July 9-July 10 we are offering a Reiki Drumming Class. This is an overnight event to be able to offer the whole class in one trip and of course to be able to have a Fire Circle to add to the fun!! Full details are available on the website calendar!!

Nature's Way..our "children of all ages" group to learn about and experience the many wonders of Nature and imagination gathers this month on the 17th at 9am.

July 23 at 7pm is our monthly Medicine Wheel Healing Ceremony...this month will also include a special offering for the waters of Earth.

Our Healing/Reiki circle will be on the 7th at 7...hmmmmm 7/7 at 7 should be a wonderful evening!!

Sweatlodge this month is Sunday the 25th and we will be starting the Fire and placing the Stones at 1pm. This will be a full Moon Sweatlodge so the energies will be wonderful!!

Our Drum Circle and Support Circle are also listed on the website calendar. As always we are available for your counseling and healing needs as well. At this time of Independence...seek to find your own independence from whatever is binding you down or holding you back.

True independence and freedom comes when we follow our own path and truth and stop trying to follow the truths of others or what others expect(kinda like living our fathers dream instead of our own). The time has come for new dreams, new paths and seeking your truths, getting out from under the thumb of stagnation and oppression.

June 12th..yes tomorrow...Release & Renew Workshop....10am to 4 pm...bring a bag lunch. This is a great experiential workshop to assist you in identifying and releasing behaviors and attitudes that hold you back and inhibit your growth. Something we all deal with in a multitude of ways!

June 19th...Nature's Way...our children's program is 9am -noon and we hold this regardless of the weather..so come dressed for what Mother Nature provides!!

This is an experiential workshop for you to identify,understand and release old habits, issues or whatever is holding you back so you can go forward with a new attitude and healthier being. Through discussion and exercises you will uncover the underlying reasons for behaviors that create negativity, fear and many other self defeating attitudes. Then you will release them to begin anew! Earth Women Gathering

A weekend retreat of Sisterhood, Wisdom, fun and connection with Mother Earth and the feminine! This weekend offers a chance to gather and share with women of like mind and heart. We will live in a community environment at one of our secluded areas and share in circles, ceremonies and exercises. Daily chores and meals will also be handled in a community way. This is scheduled during the Full Moon to enhance our feminine experience and we will be doing a Sweatlodge for those who wish to participate. Bring sleeping gear, any sacred or power items you feel compelled to bring, clothes, shoes, etc..for outside/camping , Lodge attire and any Drums, Rattles or musical instruments you enjoy as we will have a nightly Fire circle. If you are attending and have something you would like to share with the group(such as morning yoga, special meditation, etc...) please contact me so we can fit it into the schedule, this includes a partial barter for your cost of attending. How is everyone doing with the ups and downs of April? Spring has sprung and yet Winter hates to give up it's grip...Perhaps you are still holding onto something that would be better left behind as the year goes forward? There are many ways to release and move forward, we each just have to find the way that works best for us.

Here at Heron Brook Haven we have been moving forward with lots of new and wonderful ventures and even more to come! The Spring is so exciting...planting all kinds of seeds and preparing for new growth. The trick is then to care for them all so the ones that will thrive and grow can do so.

Last weekend we held our first Nature's Way program. What an awesome day. The group had so much fun. We enjoyed a story and discussion and then built bird nests and created bubble wands out of natural materials...everyone's worked and it was great fun to see all the different creative ways to build something from Nature! It is hard to say who had more fun...the adults or the kids. This is a program for children of all ages we are running once a month to help get back in touch with Mother Earth and all her gifts.The next one is on May 15th from 9-12. The weather has allowed us to hold one Drum circle outside around the Fire and we look forward to many more out there. These are held the first and third Thursday every month and are listed on our website calendar. Our Chronic Illness Support Group and our Healing Circle are also listed on the calendar.

This Friday the 28th is our first Medicine Wheel Healing Ceremony!! This is a new addition to our schedule and we look forward to sharing this experience. The power of the Wheel and what it offers to us is absolutely incredible and combining and sharing this with the energy of a community circle is very exciting and powerful! We are offering this the fourth Friday of each month beginning at 7pm.

Last weekend was our Spring Sister Sweat. We had awesome weather and a wonderful group of ladies! It was a pleasure and blessing to share the day and sacred space with old and new friends! We have scheduled a Men's Sweat for May 22nd. This will begin at 10 am. Call or e-mail to reserve your space and receive instruction. We have also scheduled a Youth Sweat for May 29th. This is for children from age 6 and older. This will also begin at 10am. Call 802-325-3880 or e-mail to reserve space and receive instructions.

May 1st, Saturday at 6pm, we are holding a special Beltane Ceremony. This event will be led by Deb, a wonderful woman who is new to the area and looks forward to meeting new friends. We will have a Beltane Fire and Ceremony and then will continue the evening with dancing and Drumming. Come join the festivities and jump the Fire to bring fertility to your endeavors for the coming growing season! The tipi is available for overnight guests.

We are taking the time in May to prepare several "things" here such as get the gardens planted, get ready for all the baby chicks, repair and improve the tipi, clean up the retreat area and get started on the Tower of Power (our sound chamber we are creating here) so we have not scheduled too many events. I am also putting together some very exciting Summer programs and am looking forward to be able to pass on the wonderful gifts I have received.

We have scheduled a couple great events for June! June 12th is a Release and Renew Workshop from 10-4. this will be an experiential workshop for you to identify,understand and release old habits, issues or whatever is holding you back so you can go forward into the rest of the year with a new attitude and healthier being. Full details on the website calendar. From June 25-27 is the Earth Women Gathering!! A wonderful event designed for us women to gather and share a time of Sisterhood, ceremony and joy! If you would like to contribute an activity to this event, please contact me and we can work out the details. Full details for this are also on website calendar. Give yourself the gift of gathering with other like minded women in a relaxing and sacred environment.

Heirloom Vegetables this year @ Heron Brook Haven

It was seed starting day here at Heron Brook Haven, one of many I am sure. The family met this morning to discuss available garden space here on the farm and what would be grown where. HBH and Roblee Farms are planning on offering some fresh, naturally grown Heirloom Vegetables this year and I for one am very excited. This morning I started 130 plants under a favorable moon.

Along with some Prairie Sage there were several Heirloom Varieties started today. Watermelon, Peppers, Broccoli, Celery, Tomatoes and Cauliflower to name a few with names like Rutgers, Snowball and Golden Acre. They were watered well, blessed and given Reiki to offer them a good strong start. A time of new beginning and movement toward a healthy and tasty year.

We also discussed raising some free range meat birds, Guinea Hens and a few more layers. It will be really nice to have some fresh natural chicken in the pot later this year. We have even considered taking a few orders for friends and family and raising a couple extra. With that, some beef from the farm and a pig in the freezer we should be pretty well set.

Sustainability is something that many people do not understand. In this day and age it is hardly a reality for most folks. A ready supply of food that is always fresh and waiting has become a way of life. The grocery store awaits and all we have to do is fill our cart and pay the bill. I believe we are paying in many more ways when we rely on this alone for our nutritional well being. The cost of the food is only a tiny part of the problem. The big problem is we really have no idea what we are eating and where it came from.

Do you have a garden? Would you grow one if you had the space? Most of you do have the space to grow some vegetables, more than you might think. Methods like raised beds and Square Foot Gardening can yield some pretty impressive harvests from a small area. Better yet, it is a lot less weeding. Yes, there are some things that just need space like Corn, Potatoes and Pumpkins but there are a lot that don't. Lettuce, Celery, Pole Beans and Tomatoes are pretty thrifty with space and can even be grown in containers. Potatoes for that matter can be grown in garbage cans, and can produce very well under the right conditions.

Anyone for some wild edibles? Yes, we are looking into wildcrafted and wild herbs and plants too. Have you ever tried Wild Oregano? It is simply wonderful and we have that here too. Leeks and Fiddleheads are in season next.

Oh, and what would you say to some Homemade, Natural Scrubby Sage Soap!

Reiki Drumming Class

Description: The Drum is a powerful healing tool that has been used in many ways for a very long time. Combining this with the ancient healing system of Reiki has created an amazing tool for healers.This technique can be used for self-healing or incorporated into your healing practice. You will receive instruction and have the chance to experience it and offer it as well. This class requires that you are at least a Reiki 2 and you will receive a certificate upon completion of the day. Bring a bag lunch and your Drum. A program for men and women of Self-empowerment and Self-discovery that leads to remembering and recovering you!!!
Regardless of who you are or where you come from, we are all here to heal and remember. The Heron's Path is a program designed to guide you on your journey to your truth and your inner answers. We accomplish this through a variety of ancient teachings and Earth based means to guide you to an understanding of Self and discovering your Orenda (your true spiritual essence). All you need to do is sit with yourself for a moment and ask if this is your calling and your path. We are led to the right people and places for our journeys and you will know if this is yours. It is a very personal journey and one that years ago required years of study under one teacher. In modern times with our technology, lifestyles and the changes occurring we can accomplish our “initiation” in a shorter time frame and in our way.
The Blue Heron carries many significant energies and medicines. It is no coincidence my place, Heron Brook Haven, is named after them or that this program is either. They embody all the elements and offer a strength and grace that only they carry. We all are kind of gangly looking and awkward as we try to take flight as the Heron can appear however when they are in flight their beauty and their flow is an awesome sight. The Heron symbolizes aggressive self healing and balance,two important pieces to any journey. They are mostly solitary creatures and yet come together in community when needed and when the time is right-the spiritual path is often a solo journey because no one can walk it for you, you have to walk your path to your truth, however we always have help when we need it. The Heron has the power and balance to stand on it's own and follow it's own call regardless of what others may say or do. Is the medicine of Heron calling to you?
This is a local and distant program and will be done through e-mail, postal mailings and a monthly hour phone session. The program is run on the 13 Moon Cycles and concludes with a four day retreat at Heron Brook Haven. It requires a commitment to yourself and your journey and a willingness to open your heart and connect to your soul. Many of us feel we have done this and yet through your own “initiation” you discover parts and places of yourself you forgot existed.
Your journey will be blessed with altar work, ceremony, animal medicine, Dreamwork, journeying, exercises and many other amazing and wonderful experiences and living truths from many cultures to enhance your path. You will discover your many gifts and tools as well as how to incorporate them into your life and journey. Discover and learn about being the co-creator that you are.
Cost of the program covers your “Moonly” packages and phone sessions and the retreat at the end of your process. You will have to manifest a few items and may already have some of them. In your first package you will receive detailed instructions and the list of items needed. The cost is $2000 and can be paid up front or in installments, there are varied payment options available. I offer one free scholarship each session as a way to give back for all my blessings (the one for this session has already been awarded). For all those who call this morning the new year we would like to wish you a wonderful year full of love, lessons and peace. A special thank you to all who joined us last night for Blue Moon Lodge. It was an amazing evening and a wonderful celebration of the 13th moon. 54 stones entered the lodge last night with glowing promise for the coming year.

Jana also created a special "Brew" for the Stone people. Born on the last new moon, the mixture consisted of Juniper berries and greens, Sage and White Cedar tips.It was allowed to steep during the waxing of the moon. The result was a most amazing aroma when poured upon the hot stones in lodge, it tasted pretty good too.

There was a lot of animal medicine at lodge as well with Mole, Owl, Snake, Kingfisher and several others who became a part of the night's magic. A beautiful warm mid winter night with good friends, old and new which finished with another great feast.

Blue Moon Lodge was built several months ago for this special occasion and is larger than both Willow Lodge and Rainbow Lodge. Since the location lends itself to convenience and easy access it is well suited to become our winter lodge.

Welcome all to the transitional month of December!!
This has been quite a year for many of us and December will help us close it out with a bang!! As we head into a busy time of year for many remember to take care of yourselves, enjoy the season and honor what it is truly about. The end of this month brings many wondrous events!! We have Mercury going into retrograde, Yule/Solstice season, New Year's Eve, a Lunar Eclipse and a Blue Moon!! What a way to begin a new year!!
As this year winds down and we head into the last month of 2009, we have some changes going on at Heron Brook Haven, some new groups and circles, new surround sound in the healing room for your listening pleasure as you receive your session and a couple great events for you to help begin anew in a positive way!! We also have Gift Certificates available to give as gifts-in varied amounts and for different types of sessions.
I have received a request from some people and am looking for some feedback as to what folks would be interested in. The request has been for a mom's group-a holistic/spiritual based support group for mom's of all ages. Children could be welcome or not?? A morning time has been suggested and so has an evening time??? Or we could offer both if enough people are interested??? How many times a month would like to meet?? Let me know your thoughts and if this is something you would like to be a part of???

The seasons and cycles that Mother Earth provides for us are amazing and when we understand and connect with them it can make our lives much more powerful and enriched. Come learn about each of the seasons and cycles and how they affect your life( regardless of your gender). We will explore each Sabbat and it's true meaning and also will explore each season and it's meaning along with learning about the Moon Cycles and how they affect us and how to work with them to empower and enrich us and our lives. Learn how to incorporate them into your daily life to enrich and empower it. Ceremonies, rituals and such will be discussed as part of this process. The new cycle will be beginning soon so this is a wonderful time for you to learn how to incorporate these things into your life so you can begin the new cycle with them.

Come celebrate Mother Earth and all our blessings on November 26th as we offer our gratitude in a community and Earth based way!! We will be gathering together outside(weather permitting-if bad weather we will move indoors) and sharing and celebrating our lives. Arrival is anytime after 11 and we will be having a potluck feast around 12 or so. The community Fire will be going and we will be singing, chanting, drumming, storytelling and whatever else the day brings in celebration and offering of gratitude. Please bring your stories, musical instruments, poetry or whatever you feel called to share for the day.

Men's Sweat at Heron Brook Haven
Don't miss the Men's sweat lodge at Heron Brook Haven on Saturday November 7th. This lodge is offered as the nights grow longer. The perfect time to celebrate the brotherhood of the end of summer before the winter chill has fully set in. This lodge will also help celebrate the coming of age for CloudWalker Wolf as he pours the first lodge of his 50th year.

We will gather at 10:00 am at Heron Brook Haven and make our way to the Brook Road from there. Don't forget shorts and a towel, an item to place on the alter and a dish to share at the feast to follow lodge. Possibly the last lodge of the season at brook road, this is shaping up to be a very special event. Please RSVP and let us know that you are coming. Donations for firewood are gracefully accepted. A new tradition has begun at Heron Brook Haven. Youth and youngsters have become a big part of our programs and lessons. The next seven generations are already here and are the future leaders. If we can help them find their center and allow the energy they hold to flow in a positive direction, they will be better for it. We have found that the experience of Lodge holds an opportunity for them to share a safe space where they can express themselves and their concerns within a group of their peers.

Youth Lodge at Heron Brook Haven offers such a space. Teens and Young Adults are encouraged to connect with Mother Earth and the elements in a positive way, allowing them to see the relationships between all living things. These events along with others which can be found on our website, are held throughout the year, allowing them to work together in a natural setting, side by side with Mother Nature.

We hope you will join us for this special lodge, dedicated to the spirit of youth and the future.

Youth lodge begins at 10:00 am on Saturday October 10th and will be followed by a feast and all are invited to a supervised campout in the large Tipi at Heron Brook Haven. Participants should bring warm clothing and sleeping bags, appropriate attire to wear in lodge, no metal parts. A dish for the feast and any special items they wish to share in the spirit of the days events. Drums and story telling, song and laughter around the campfire are encouraged.

Greetings To All
Hope everyone is able to enjoy this amazing weather we are being gifted with!! There has been lots of wonderful things going on around here and hope it is the same for all of you!! I am working on getting the Fall schedule finalized. I have some great new events already scheduled, we are continuing the Circles as they are accomplishing many wonderful things for all involved and am looking into some new ideas as well.
Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar that is posted on the website for details and updates-we also now have a photo album on the website for your viewing pleasure!!

There are a couple changes to make note of --the first being that Woman Medicine Day this month is being changed to the 3rd Saturday. I am participating in a Sweatlodge build and Equinox Ceremony on the 20th so hope to see you all on Sat. the 19th at noontime for our Woman's Medicine Day-next month it will be back on the 3rd Sunday.
The other change to note is that our Men's Day is turning into Men's Night and is now going to be offered on the 2nd Wed. of every month at 7 p.m. We hope this time is more convenient for those wanting to attend.
